Appointments

UPDATE:  Due to coronavirus, appointments will not be available to book on line as this system has been suspended.  If you need an appointment please call the surgery and the receptionist will deal with your request.

Appointments can be made either by telephone or by calling in at the reception desk. You can either book an urgent on the day appointment (if available) or go for a pre-bookable appointment. You can also make routine appointments using this website. To do this you will need your individual patient access PIN which can be picked up from reception.

We always try to minimise the waiting time for you and, whilst we try to see you at the appointed time, some patients’ appointments may take longer than the time allocated, so please be patient if there is some delay.

We will also try to give you an appointment with the doctor that you prefer, but it may not always be possible. It’s also advisable that you should try to see the same doctor during the course of the same illness.

Please always attend your appointment on time and if you are unable to keep your appointment then please remember to call us as soon as possible. By doing this, you will be helping us to make more appointments available for you and other patients.

Please ask the reception staff for further advice on the appropriate appointment.

eConsultations

If you would like to contact your doctor, fill in an eConsultation and you will get a reply within 48 hours of submitting your eConsultation between Monday and Friday.

Once the eConsultation has been submitted you will get a phone call or text from your GP and they will make the clinical decision whether you need to be seen face to face and you will get a phone call back from a receptionist with a time and date.

Please do NOT use this service to order prescriptions.

GP2Pharmacy

GP2Pharmacy is a new approach to getting an appointment with a health care professional.

How does this work?

GP2Pharmacy works by contacting us and asking to see the pharmacy for a fixed time appointment. The pharmacy staff are qualified and trained to treat a wide range of symptoms and conditions.

These include things like:

  • coughs
  • colds
  • rashes
  • sore throats
  • hayfever
  • chest infections
  • urine infections
  • blood pressure readings
  • and more

You can chose ANY pharmacy to go to in South Tyneside. The one that suits you best, maybe next to work, or home. It doesn’t have to be your usual pharmacy.

You should be seen as soon as possible mostly in the same day of requesting the appointment depending on what time you request it.
